Stock Trader AI (www.stocktrader-ai.com) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — for authentication and account recovery
• Display name — shown in the app interface
• Google profile data (if using Google sign-in) — name and profile photo

1.2 Investment Data You Provide

You voluntarily enter the following data into the platform:

• Stock trades (symbol, quantity, price, date)
• Dividend payments
• Options trades
• Watchlist stocks
• Brokerage account names and cash balances
• Investment goals
• Personal notes

We do not connect to your brokerage accounts directly. All investment data is manually entered or imported via CSV by you.

1.3 AI Interaction Data

When you use the AI Assistant, your messages and the AI's responses are stored to maintain conversation history and provide context for future interactions. Conversation summaries are used to personalize the AI experience.

1.4 Usage Data

We track credit usage (AI research reports generated) and message quotas (AI Assistant messages sent) for subscription management. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts.

1.5 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Provide and operate the Stock Trader AI service
• Calculate portfolio performance, gains, and dividend yields
• Generate AI-powered research reports and assistant responses
• Manage your subscription and credit usage
• Send account-related emails (password reset, verification)
• Improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or investment information with third parties, except in the following limited cases:

• AI language model providers — Your portfolio context (aggregated, not raw data) is sent to AI language model providers (currently Google Gemini) to generate AI research and assistant responses. This includes stock symbols, position sizes, and performance metrics. The provider's data usage policies apply to this processing. The AI provider may change at any time.
• Stripe — Your email and subscription details are shared with Stripe for payment processing.
• Supabase — Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security. Supabase's data processing terms apply.
• Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, secure authentication, access controls that ensure users can only access their own data, and rate limiting to prevent abuse.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Specifically:

• Account and investment data — retained until you delete your account
• AI research cache — automatically expires (24 hours for on-demand, 30 days for pre-generated)
• AI Assistant conversations — retained until you delete them individually or delete your account
• AI Assistant disclaimer acceptance — retained for legal compliance

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — all your data is visible within the app
• Delete your data — you can permanently delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings > Privacy & Data
• Delete conversations — individual AI Assistant conversations can be deleted at any time
• Update your information — display name and preferences can be changed in Settings

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use:

• Authentication cookies — httpOnly cookies managed by Supabase for session management
• Local storage — for UI preferences (currency, tab selections, onboarding state). No tracking data is stored.

We do not use third-party cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels.

8. Children's Privacy

Stock Trader AI is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and data.

9. International Data

The service is hosted on Vercel (global edge network) with data stored in Supabase-hosted infrastructure. By using the service, you consent to your data being processed in the regions where these services operate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
